An Uplifting Shabbos for the Teams

Over 300 Seeach Sod staff members from all over the country spent a beautiful weekend seminar together in the Kinorot hotel in Teveriah.

Top-level professionals delivered empowering lectures on teaching methods for populations with special needs.

In a special teachers' panel, each framework presented its unique aspects as a service provider for a particular group. Yeshivah Otzar HaTorah for high-functioning students with cognitive impairments, for example, described the accessible sefarim that are used by their students. Other frameworks such as cheder and yeshivah Shaarei Tevunah for students on the Autism spectrum, and cheder and yeshivah Belibeinu Binah for students with dual diagnoses, presented their methodology. The staff members of the Yecholot employment program, the Shoham day centers, and the group homes program brought their unique perspectives to the table as well.

The seminar included an especially uplifting Shabbos of togetherness, as the staff members and directors enjoyed an empowering Shabbos with CEO Rabbi Shimon Levy, who initiated these special days in order to provide the tireless professionals with a boost of strength that will enable them to continue their selfless work on behalf of their precious charges. The beautiful atmosphere reached a peak with the Neranenah Choir and famous composer and performer Rabbi Aharale Weintraub.

Dozens of parents sent in thank-you letters expressing their appreciation for their children's teachers' work and the ripple effect that it has on the entire family.

In between professional lectures and panels, the staff members were treated to refreshing activities in the Teveriah hot springs, on ATV rides and kayaking in the Jordan River, with delicious refreshments and live music.

Rabbi Binyamin Kovalsky came especially from Yerushalayim to show his appreciation and give chizzuk to the teachers. As he spoke about the essence of the teachers' mission, one of the staff members stood up and quipped that there should really be a special "leshem yichud" written for the critical role that special-ed teachers play…
