The director of the Ministry of Labor, Welfare, and Social Services, Mr. Avigdor Kaplan, recently toured Seeach Sod’s programs, focusing on how Seeach Sod has dealt with the challenges posed by the Coronavirus crisis. Mr. Kaplan was presented with a summary of Seeach Sod’s activities during this period, as well as the steps taken to ensure the health of the participants and residents of the apartments. The overview focused in particular on the “hospitalization facility” opened by Seeach Sod in conjunction with the Ministry of Welfare and the Jerusalem municipality for the benefit individuals with disabilities who were diagnosed with the virus.

Mr. Kaplan took a virtual tour of the supported housing apartments along with Seeach Sod CEO Rav Shimon Levy, and he also had the opportunity to see Seeach Sod’s ISO 9001 certification. At the conclusion of his visit, Mr. Kaplan and Mr. Gil RIbush, director of community services in the Jerusalem municipality, presented a certificate of appreciation to the directors of the hospitalization facility.

Also participating in the visit were Mrs. Michal Chefetz, director of community residential services, Mrs. Orly Osterman, director of the Ministry of Welfare Jerusalem region, Mrs. Shoshi Espler, nursing director of emergency management and development, Mr. Nihad Zarkavy, regional supervisor for services to the disabled, Mrs. Efrat Sheharabani, assistant director of the Jerusalem region, Mr. Adi Leshem, supervisor of the Jerusalem region disabled services administration, and Mr. Nachum Ido, director of services for children and young adults.

At the event, Mr. Kaplan remarked: “I am grateful to all of the partners in this work – the staff of the Ministry of Welfare, the Jerusalem municipality, Seeach Sod CEO Rav Shimon Levy, and all of the staff of Seeach Sod, in particular those who stayed here around the clock and demonstrated great devotion over the course of many challenging months. My blessing to you is that the hospitalization facility should remain closed and that we will no longer require its services!”

Mr. Ribush remarked: “During this recent crisis, which brought with it many challenges to the city, it became clear that there are many people fighting alongside us – exceptional organizations like Seeach Sod, as we saw today.”

Mrs. Osterman said: “I am very pleased that the tour today took place. It was important to us that the director of the Ministry of Welfare see firsthand the leadership and responsibility that you have demonstrated. The deep caring of the Seeach Sod staff was apparent throughout this period. It is clear that all of the staff here is extremely dedicated. I am proud that Seeach Sod is part of our region and the disabled services administration.”
