Director of the Ministry of Welfare Visits Seeach Sod

The director of the Ministry of Labor, Welfare, and Social Services, Mr. Avigdor Kaplan, recently toured Seeach Sod’s programs, focusing on how Seeach Sod has dealt with the challenges posed by the Coronavirus crisis. Mr. Kaplan was presented with a summary of Seeach Sod’s activities during this period, as well as the steps taken to ensure the health of the participants and residents of the apartments. The overview focused in particular on the “hospitalization facility” opened by Seeach Sod in conjunction with the Ministry of Welfare and the Jerusalem municipality for the benefit individuals with disabilities who were diagnosed with the virus.

 

Singer Yaakov Shwekey Brings Joy to R. and Her Friends

The counselors at Seeach Sod’s Rehabilitative Day-Hab Center fulfilled a dream for R., who always responds enthusiastically, although non-verbally, upon hearing the songs of Yaakov Shwekey.

The Modzitzer Rebbe and the Mayor of Bnei Brak at Seeach Sod’s Chanuka Celebration

On the second night of Chanuka, a special party was held at the Armanot Chen Hall in Bnei Brak for the participants in Seeach Sod’s vocational program in the city. The owners of the hall – who employ a group of the men in the program – invited to the celebration hundreds of men who work in neighborhood businesses or as part of guided groups in industrial workshops. 

Moshe Shetreet, Deputy Mayor of Beit Shemesh, Tours Seeach Sod’s Programs in the City

Seeach Sod recently hosted Moshe Shetreet, Deputy Mayor of Beit Shemesh, for a tour of its programs in the city – the day-hab program, vocational programs, and supported housing apartments – which left a deep impression on him. “The staff here is doing amazing work! Their efforts are evident in terms of both the training they provide and the relationship they have with the clients… There is a huge heart here! The people here have a high quality of life and they advance in their jobs at an amazing rate – all thanks to the respectful and warm atmosphere. I feel assured.”

Rav and Mayor of Bnei Brak Participate in Mesibat Hodaya of a Young Man with Disabilities

On Tuesday, 12 Kislev, Rav Landau shlita, Rav of Bnei Brak, and Rav Avraham Rubinstein, mayor of Bnei Brak, joined many others at a special mesibat hodaya held in one of Seeach Sod’s Supported Housing apartments in the city. The mesiba was held to celebrate the recuperation of one of the residents after a prolonged illness. All of those who participated were deeply moved by the event.

A Visit with the Satmar Rebbe

Students at Otzar Yerushalayim who have excelled in their tefilla had the opportunity to join the Satmar Rebbe for tefillos on his recent visit to Eretz Yisrael.

In advance of Rosh Hashana, Rav Yisrael Kellerman, deputy mayor of Jerusalem responsible for educational resources, toured the Seeach Sod campuses in Jerusalem.

The City of Bnei Brak and Seeach Sod Team Up to Improve the Quality of Life for Individuals with Disabilities

Staff from the Department of Social Services of the Bnei Brak municipality recently participated in a tour of Seeach Sod’s educational and welfare programs in Jerusalem, with the goal of considering options for expansion of services provided to individuals with disabilities in Bnei Brak. The Bnei Brak municipality is already well acquainted with Seeach Sod’s activities, as the Welfare Department often refers residents of the city to Seeach Sod’s programs in Bnei Brak.

Mayor of Bnei Brak Lights Lag B’Omer Bonfire at Bnei Brak Vocational Program

The mayor of Bnei Brak honored Seeach Sod’s Bnei Brak vocational program with his presence at the bonfire lighting ceremony, lighting the bonfire, dancing with students, and distributing ices. The students were thrilled!
