About Us
The environment of our school provides students with the greatest opportunities for optimal growth in all realms. The students take an active role in their courses on all subjects, which are taught in a manner appropriate for their level of development. They benefit from advanced professional treatments, as well as appropriate social and cultural events. Our goal is to provide our students with the opportunity to integrate into community life in all realms – academic, employment, and recreation.
Target Population
Girls ages 7-21 with mild intellectual disabilities.
Professional Staff
Our staff includes certified special education teachers, health professionals, subject teachers, enrichment teachers, social worker, guidance counselor, educational psychologist, school nurse.
Hours of Operation
8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Vacations parallel those of the Ministry of Education.
Academic Studies
The school curriculum at Maoz Yerushalayim is based on that of the Beis Yaakov system and code of conduct. There is a school uniform, and students participate in Jewish study classes. There is a siddur party in 1st grade, the students participate in the national Batya Convention, there is a Bat Mitzvah celebration, and in 7th grade, the students study for the nation-wide Jewish Concepts test.
Social Environment
The school provides the opportunity of developing social skills and interactions, and school life is filled with experiences and activities. Professional social skills workshops are provided on an individual and group level. Integration is encouraged through joint activities with other schools in the neighborhood.
Proper Conduct
Maoz Yerushalayim emphasizes proper conduct (derecho eretz) and appropriate behavior in public. The school presents a comprehensive personal safety curriculum.
Independence
The school has a unique curriculum geared towards teaching optimal independence in daily life, including home economics and personal hygiene and care.
Preparation for Employment
The students in the high school study in different professional tracks, which prepare them for optimal integration in the world of employment.
Contribution to the Community
The students at Maoz Yerushalayim operate a media library for the children of Ramot. They appear in plays and serve as counselors in the local community center, and they participate in many programs that contribute to the community.

- The general school curriculum includes all of the subjects specified by the Ministry of Education
- The curriculum is adapted to each particular class according to level
