At Beit Metzudot, students with severe intellectual impairment are escorted out of their inner worlds and given the keys to access the freedom, sunshine and joy that every human being is entitled to. Through innovative therapies and methods, the staff members strive to achieve some form of communication with each and every one of their students, no matter how far they seem to be.

Paramedical therapies: occupational therapy, speech therapy, art therapy, hydrotherapy, physical therapy, Snoezelen rooms (multi-sensory stimulation), animal therapy and horseback riding therapy

Objective: When a Seeach Sod student is evaluated to have complex intellectual or communication disabilities, the staff chooses a treatment course best suited for his or her needs. These treatment courses often necessitate the use of various equipment and devices such as voice output aids, touch screens, iPads and communication boards. A team of expert psychologists and psychiatrists evaluate and treat students accordingly.

The focal point of the care is to achieve some form of communication with the individual, each in accordance to his/her capability. If a student is unable to communicate verbally, his/her therapies will focus on Augmentative and Alternative Communication through the PECS exchange system or ICT (Intellectual Communication Technology) programs. The ability to communicate empowers the impaired individual with a sense of independence and aids in his/her performance of daily living activities.

Daily schedule encompasses: sensory stimulation, group settings for speech therapy, fine and gross motor development, preliminary vocational training if possible, paramedical therapies and sport activities.
