Happiness Spilling onto the Streets at Seeach Sod's Annual Simchat Beit Hashoeva

The residents of Jerusalem, and many outside it, are already accustomed to the wonderful annual event - the Simchat Beit Hashoeva conducted every year by Seeach Sod.

The event attracts thousands of celebrants each year, and has rightfully earned its reputation as an evening filled with joy, saturated with the atmosphere of the Chag. This year too, the Simchat Beit Hashoeva was held on the third day of Chol Ha'Moed, on the rooftops of Seeach Sod's main campus in Jerusalem.

A couple of hours before the start of the event hundreds of friends of Seeach Sod, the extended Seeach Sod family, parents and children, along with the crowd, began to flock to Yirmiyahu Street in Jerusalem.

The children and adults of Seeach Sod, came to the Simchat Beit Hashoeva in droves, happy and excited, especially here they feel "hosts". Every student, each resident, and each adult, felt at home. They  proudly presented the place before their parents all the while feeling that everything here is done for him and that he is the main and most important event for which the Rabbis and all the public figures, the orchestra and the entire audience, and of course hundreds of members of the Seeach Sod team are participating.  This year, there was an addition of Seeach Sod adults from the new vocational center in Beit Shemesh, and they participated alongside their friends from the programs in Jerusalem and Bnei Brak.

From the moment the signal was given, and the orchestra broke into a lively song, the place was inspired by joy without interruption, until the end of the event, close to midnight. Shoulder to shoulder, they danced together, with courage and joy, old men and boys, Hasidim and men of action, gathered and came, excited and happy. The Malchus choir enhanced the event, utilizing the best soloists, musicians and instrumentalists, with a special and moving melody by Seeach Sod's Pirchei Seeach = choir. The orchestra, merged with the great singing that came from the celebrants, in a loud voice that was heard from afar.

An emotional and moving moment was the speech of the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau, who emphasized the willpower that brings people with disabilities to achieve unimaginable achievements. He joined the Pirchei Seeach choir, who sang a melody of yearning "Yibaneh Hamikdash" and then shook their hands with warmth that melted hearts.
