Inauguration Ceremony for Seeach Sods Dental Clinic, Smile for Life

On January 18th, Seeach Sod held a ceremony in honor of opening their first ever dental clinic for special needs children and adults.

The project originated as a passing thought by Seeach Sod's CEO Rabbi Shimon Levy, but like many other thoughts that come into fruition at Seeach Sod; this goal became a reality.

With great appreciation to the staff of Seeach Sod, the bulk of gratitude for the clinic's opening goes to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Welfare; they helped make this project reach its completion.

Over 100 people gathered for this special and memorable event, including many government officials and delegates from the Jerusalem Municipality and different departments from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Key guests got a small tour of Seeach Sod's Vocational programming (Ashira and Ma'as) and the girl's school for severely impaired students (Beit Metzudot).

There was a lavish spread of delicacies in Seeach Sod's Eis Hall, and after having eaten, the guests went to see the dental clinic where Chaim Katz, Minister of Welfare, and Yakov Litzman, Minister of Health, cut the ceremonial ribbon. When everyone returned to the hall, Rabbi Levy spoke a  few meaningful words. He shared a story of a girl in one of Seeach Sod homes who cried most of the night, each night. She cried and cried and no one was able to help her. Even the neighbors heard her cries and the staff were out of ideas of what could be bothering her. Finally, it was discovered she had a severe tooth ache that was really hurting her and became intensely painful at night. When they discovered the problem, which she couldn't articulate, they were able to solve it immediately and she was relived of the  pain which thereby stopped the nighttime crying. It’s a story like this reflects the importance of this project.

Yaakov Litzman (Minister of Health,) who has a long time relationship with Seeach Sod, spoke beautifully and was presented with a special gift of a photo album of all the memorable events Seeach Sod has had together with him over the years. Chaim Katz (Minister of Welfare), spoke how the Welfare department has been pouring more and more money towards special needs initiatives and he was proud to count the Ministry of Welfare in this important milestone. Next to speak was Rafi HaCohen, the CFO of Malam Sachar, who is Seeach Sod's company choice to use for payroll.  Malam Sachar  sponsored the ceremony which Seeach Sod was very grateful for . Mr. HaCohen spoke how a day like this reminds him that his business is not about money, money, money, but about meaningful organizations and their important work, such as Seeach Sod.

All guests saw Seeach Sod's new released video which bought tears and smiles to the entire audience after which the Pirchei Seeach Choir made a small performance.

The clinic will be service members of Seeach Sod and at a later stage, it will serve the entire special needs community in need for this service. The Dental Clinic is located in Seeach Sod's main building on 31 Yirmiyahu St., Romema, Jerusalem.

Now we don't just ensure our members smile, but we are making sure they Smile for Life.
